  1. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • The Raven says:

Obama’s brother is a birther, Did you see that? ( LINK )

    • lysie says:

      Well…what do you know…., Rav.

    • The Raven says:

      News:

“After an exhaustive evaluation process, the Committee has determined by unanimous vote that Judge Gorsuch is ‘Well Qualified’ for the position of Associate Justice of the Supreme Court.”

      – extremely liberal American Bar Association

    • edinva says:

FINALLY got my first snow for the season. It’s beautiful. About 3″ (and still falling) accumulating on lawns and trees, but not roads. Then, temps are forecast to drop to bitter cold for the weekend. But really, what do I care? I’m inside playing Nurse Ratchet till Tuesday when it’s scheduled to s*** again. May not look so good by then.

Happy the ABA recognized Judge Gorsuch as well qualified. I’m sure they, or some of them, tried to find a glitch somewhere in his past, like that overdue library book. Other than pure partisan reasons, i.e., Trump shouldn’t be POTUS and shouldn’t be making this appointment, Gorsuch should be confirmed 100-0. I’d like to see President Trump have at least two more appointments to SCOTUS during this term.

I’m going out to make me some snow angels. OK, not really.

    • tillacum says:

      Good Morning All.
Well, half of him could have been born in Mombasa and the other half in Hawaii. Stranger things have happened. Today is my goofy day.

    • Jemian says:

Happy Saturday to all. Prayers for those what need ’em (and that, of course, means all of us).

  2. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Thanks lysie. Good morning…birds are chirping away, and the wind has died down. Our power flickered a couple of times yesterday, due to the strong gusts, I assume.

    • lysie says:

      You are welcome.

We went to the camp to do a few things. Wow! The winds and gusts were unbelievable.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

It was dangerous out there. Are things ok at the camp? I love to hear about it, cause it means SUMMER!
I had investment club meeting to go to last night…so…not far, but I was conscious of what might be on the road. All went well, tho til I got to my friend’s house. There I parked slightly off the large circular driveway, and partly in the grass…trying to make a slight adjustment, I realized I gone too far into the grass…very soft, and was now stuck!

So later the guys came out to push..nope…pull with chain and one of their jeeps, but I put an end to that idea. It was too late in the evening, and they weren’t really sure how to proceed on my large minivan.
So home I came with a friend dropping me off, and this a.m. my husband and I will go back and call Triple A for a strong pull. Honestly!

    • The Raven says:

Can we have a day without liberals? A day with no whining. No fake news. No sedition. Small cost to the economy.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Very small cost to the economy. Very big benefit to our mental health.

    • edinva says:

      Thanks, lysie

Molly, so sorry you had that parking incident. You know, AAA is on duty 24/7, could have gotten a truck out to you last night. I suppose by then you’d ‘had enough fun’ and just wanted to get home, forget about the van. I had to call AAA last week, the night before I left town (as if I didn’t have enough to do), got a flat just as I was moving from the onramp onto the Beltway. Scary as he## with cars buzzing by at 80 mph.

What a spoiled bunch those protesting women are. Would one of them trade places with women living throughout the Middle East (other than Israel)? Or most of sub-Sahara Africa? Or most of the world. We American women live daily what others can only dream of. What a disgraceful lot.

Basically avoiding news, so good for one’s health.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Yes, last night it was late, late…not good. The tow pulled the van out easily. I can’t imagine having a flat tire under the circumstances you describe. Yikes…

    • The Raven says:

Anyone need a good coffee table book for guests to peruse? This one is number four on Amazon !!!

    • The Raven says:

Is there a good reason why we can’t have two health care plans? One is for Dems – call it Obamacare – and will allow all comers, take care of the poor, and be priced separately from a free market system with a combination of health savings accounts and catastrophic insurance.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Great idea!

  3. edinva says:

Molly … on the school closings: Alexandria is a split mailing address. Some is in the City of Alexandria, where the closings are, and then there’s Alexandria that is part of Fairfax County (where I live). So our local schools remain open. City of Alex is geographically small and extremely diverse. If you’re not very comfortable – in which case you send your kids to private school – you’re probably lower middle to lower end of the socio-economic spectrum. So this is affecting more poor families than wealthy. Maybe one elementary school is not covered by the special federal program which name eludes me at the moment. Some wealthier families still send their kids to the local h.s because it has a nationally ranked crew team. That high school (T.C. Williams, the only h.s. in the City of Alexandria) was he featured in the movie “Remember the Titans.” I’d fire their arses, but I guess the # are too high for the administrators to do much. Year end teacher gifts are out of the question.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Thanks for explaining the situation there ED…the whole day has spurred several stories/reports on what is going on in our country’s public schools….the abuse of the children via left wing propaganda is intolerable.

  4. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  5. The Raven says:

Finally! the GOP is united. Against the health bill

    • Molly Pitcher says:

This is NOT what we imagined, is it?

    • The Raven says:

I can’t believe they are once again afraid.

My wife and I had a arrogant snotty Millennial waitress last night and we were talking about what will happen when the entitled class runs out of cash? And they don’t have work ethics and incentives to earn since it is a “right” to eat, go to school, medical, etc. My prediction is they will tap into other programs that don’t affect them (social security, medicare) and when that backfires, they will turn to communism.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Classes pitted against other classes..where we are, and where we’re going….oh, & racial divisions, too.

  6. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

One of my favorite breakfasts! Thanks lysie
It appears that some Rs aren’t too happy or on board with the R’s health care plans. What do we call this thing, btw?? Whatever else it was, 0Care was easy to type….

    • lysie says:

      You are welcome.

      Is it called RyanCare?

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Maybe that’s it! It will serve for awhile, at least… very good…
Now….to decide whether it’s going to do the job or not…bigger problem…

    • The Raven says:

If you like your Obamacare…..you can keep it.

They should completely back off of everything…but they won’t….they are keeping many entitlements

    • Molly Pitcher says:

That’s what I am hearing…also more will come later, in stages. It does NOT sound market-based.

    • edinva says:

Good morning, lysie. What a great breakfast for an overcast but no longer bitter cold day. Now relocated from LINY to MKNY (Mt Kisco). I must be doing well as my friend’s post-knee replacement surgery exercise coach. She’s already calling me Nurse Ratchet. The official Visiting Nurse is here, and a therapist due as soon as she leaves. Then we have three rounds of exercise. So it sure makes the time pass.

It’s kind of neat being away from the news. Every time I get to see/read/hear the news, there’s a million new things that have transpired, like the new CIA per Wikileaks story. This is reminiscent of both Watergate and the whole Monica situation. Every hour something new breaking. I put nothing, absolutely nothing, past Obama & Co. He is, after all, a Chicago pol. We knew that from the beginning. How the damage can ever be undone will be a very serious question.

Visiting nurse making her exit, so … to be continued. Have a great day everyone.

    • lysie says:

Hi, ed. Rainy day here. Keep up the good work with your friend Nurse Ratchet. LOL

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Yes, Hello Nurse Ratchet…(ED may regret using that name. lol!)

    • Two Thirds says:

Hi all! I got a chance to post. I keep lurking as much as I can.
Anyway, today I heard it called RINOcare. From what I’ve heart and read, that’s pretty accurate.

    • lysie says:

      Hi Two Thirds.

  7. Molly Pitcher says:

While you weren’t looking… Andy McCarthy describing the Dem Retreat
I read a phrase somewhere I really like….Democrat Media Complex…Have you seen it?? The DMC…yep……

  8. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  9. Molly Pitcher says:

Raven you would have gone to a pro Trump rally then? I heard at some point there might be some..then lost track of the story completely. I used to be plugged into Americans for Prosperity…a Tea Party group…got emails all the time..phone calls too, about events, etc…but nothing for a long while.

    • Jemian says:

Good morning. Just quietly checking in. Everything is fine here. I hope Trump smokes all the bad guys. Over the weekend I read a Kindle Unlimited book, Purple Reason,. It had a plausible premise about the uniparty setting up an oligarchy which has been quietly running the country since WWII. Very credible.

    • The Raven says:

MP….I would have gone. Probably would have packed a piece. Looks dangerous. Lot of lefty kooks out there.

So Comey wants to tamp down the Obama spy story but not the Trump/Russia story? Why do Dems get a pass on everything?

    • Molly Pitcher says:

I am about to read the next book in the Moody series, Jemian.
Kooks and downright scary ones, too Raven

    • The Raven says:

      Morning Quote:

” … what modern liberalism has become: a politics shrouded in pathos. … today’s liberal marches are marked by incoherence and downright lunacy—hats designed to evoke sexual organs, poems that scream in anger yet have no point to make, and an hysterical anti-Americanism.

      – Shelby Steele

    • lysie says:

Rav, perfect quote. They demand respect from us yet they are far from deserving. Pigs, they are. No! Pigs have my respect and probably smell a heck of a lot better. LOL.
