America the Right Way -Staying Vigilant- April 24, 2017 – April 28, 2017 Remember 9/11

It’s Le Pen vs. Macron in the French presidential run-off election.

N. Korea has managed to get hold of another American as hostage.

And for some strange reason Chelsea Clinton continues to attract attention, although…although ….there are signs that even some Dems have Clinton fatigue, even openly admitting it.

    • lysie says:

Exactly! Many politicians have very little standards.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Really. After so many votes to repeal, now this.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Violation of international law? Maybe the Rs are afraid of this….??

    • edinva says:

I’ve expressed elsewhere that Gloria Allred and her daughter, Lisa Bloom, remind me of nothing so much as the Westboro Baptist crowd. Just a family of bottom feeding lawyers. And I’m being kind.
The Brothers Murdoch with their lefty leanings and weak spines are going to destroy their father’s empire. Already there is talk of establishing a conservative media empire apart from Fox. There certainly is an audience if someone can get it together.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Hi ED….too much weakness in R circles…the media…Capital Hill…being bullied on campuses…worrying…

    • edinva says:

Molly, it’s hard not to get swept up into the swamp vortex in DC. After a while they want the invitations to the “A List” parties and social events, they want the glowing articles in the MSM, invitations to Meet the Press, etc. And, there are always groupies. It’s a very tempting lifestyle.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

That is sooo true…I’ve met a couple of locals, who joined the Washington Whirl, and it was not pleasant, to put it mildly, to hear them talk about their former hometown, and their firm desire never to return. And they said this to us DC visitors who were returning…Plus, this was in one of those fancy Pennsylvania Ave restaurants, and as I looked around at the other patrons, I spotted a Cong. or 2, and I don’t know how many wheelers and dealers. It was pretty sickening.

    • edinva says:

In the same way Trump’s order that none of his Administration people can be employed after ther service lobbying for X years or lobbying for a foreign entity ever, Congresspersons should be made to return home after their (limited) term. Their time in Congress shouldn’t be spent at the Capitol Grill, but making their home district a place they want to return to after a few years. It is my sincere hope that Trump’s policies do bring jobs and industry back, and make these “rust belt” cities shine again. There is no reason that the US population should be concentrated in NYC/DC/LA/SF. I’ve seen so many of my kids friends from across the fruited plain (now known as “flyover country”) come to DC because it’s the only place where there were jobs when they graduated. The only growth was the size of government. The WH and Congress should work to spread the wealth, not redistribute it.

  1. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  2. The Raven says:

We now have Spectrum 100mbps internet available…..I signed up for it as well as TV and phone. I’m cancelling my Directv – which I have been with since the beginning. One of their longest customers. I called them up a few weeks ago and said they have competition in the area and I thought their bill was way too high. We are saving 150/mo

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Yep. Something similar here. We already use Spectrum…formerly Time Warner…but my husband conducted a long online chat with them Tuesday, and decided to get their telephone coverage. Goodbye AT& T for local, and IDT for long distance. Keep the same #, save money, simplify the bills, plus some other benefits.
We just have to make sure cell phones are always charged up if something happens to the cable.

  3. lysie says:

Today is National Babe Ruth Day.

  4. Molly Pitcher says:

Afternoon everyone…so United will now offer up to $10,000 for a passenger to give up a seat?!

  5. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  6. The Raven says:

    Morning Quote:

Christian leftists have forgotten is that altruism is a beautiful thing until it becomes mandatory — which is the moment it becomes murderous. And the moment we cross the line between giving without a reward and forcing others to give without a reward, we have left the realm of altruism entirely. And there is a very specific name for the kind of people who view the lives, liberty, and property of their neighbors as nothing more than a means to a personal end — even if it is a “spiritual” end. We call them robbers, murderers, and tyrants. The liberal Christian robs and endangers Christians to enrich the world’s barbarians and losers, and he does it to glorify himself at minimal personal expense.

Also by the same author an excellent read on the left in Am. Thinker – First They Came for the Nazis

  7. Molly Pitcher says:

So Coulter has backed out of Berkeley…maybe word from the police that there were too-credible threats against her and others?. Blast it! the Leftist thugs win another one.

    • lysie says:

Yup! Threatening violence or actual violence is the leftists only solution.

    • edinva says:

I think it may be winning the battle but losing the war for the left. That’s my hope anyway.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

That’s a valid point ED….the Left may be pushing their advantage too far.

    • The Raven says:

“…Law enforcement sources told Fox News there is a “99 percent” chance that the college will erupt in violence over the appearance — whether she shows up or not.”

    • edinva says:

Bring out the water cannons! Not that that would ever happen in Berkeley. These universities have to start clamping down on the students who are organizing violent protests. Expel their sorry butts. See what other school would then take them. Sue their parents for the damages so there’s no $$ left to pay the brats’ tuition, and nothing for the little ba$tard$ to inherit. These students (and I grant that many of the protesters are paid by the likes of G. Soros) have no respect for anything, not for life and not for property. Then they will get a degree from what has been a prestigious university and job offers paying several times what the average hard-working American makes. It’s truly sickening. End of rant, thank you!

    • The Raven says:

The hypocrisy is if you substitute “Republican” for anything on the left’s hit list (gay, Latino, black, Muslim, et al) of things you can’t protest – it is suddenly OK to do whatever. The Portland Rose parade cancellation is the latest.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

ok here it is: Portland Rose parade cancelled due to threats

It seems like another world now, but Portland used to be full of the kindest, sweetest people you could ever want to meet. I knew that just below the surface, there were some keen political differences, but it didn’t matter. The stresses there now seem to be unbridgeable. there are some new, radicalized elements in the city which have taken over, plus, there are the years and years of Leftism finally reaching the surface, I guess.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

What’s this?? Portland? I will have to check this out….

  8. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  9. The Raven says:

The Dems are using judges to disrupt the executive branch again. Can two play at that game? How about finding some Republican judges to refuse to accept illegals settled in their state. Send them to California.

And the California Supreme Court overruled the US Supreme Court if you can believe it. The higher court ruled that lawsuits against large companies are to be filed in the same district as their main office. This was to prevent lawyers from filing class action suits against drug companies in towns where the jury pool was always against the big companies and the lawyers won mega settlements. So the Cal. judges said….the drug companies sell their stuff in California so they can get sued in California. They ignored the Supreme Court.

This leaves the door open for the Utah Supreme Court to reinstate the death penalty for abortion doctors. Or Texas to require proof of citizenship to vote. Or Arizona to ignore federal immigration mandates.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

It’s wild and crazy time in the courts.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Some commenter at Powerline: we’re about 3 days away from the 9th circuit declaring the U.S. Constitution unconstitutional.

    • The Raven says:

Years ago – I made a fake NY Times front page with the headline US CONSTITUTION RULED UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

      Hah. I’ll look for it.

Maybe next, if a judge doesn’t like who’s winning The Voice …..he’ll overrule the TV judges.

    • edinva says:

Don’t know if you folks are aware, but there’s a hearing at the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals on May 8 at 2:30pm: Intl Refugee Assistant Project, et al. v Trump, et al. It will be live streamed, with the recorded hearing available at the court’s site about an hour after the hearing concludes. This is the case where a District Court Judge Chuang (Obama 2014 appointee as I recall) determined that he could not only halt the Executive Order in his district, but could do so nationwide. C-Span is covering (tho I don’t know that they will be allowed to have visual equipment in the courtroom there).

Every single left wing group in the US has filed an Amicus brief. I have tediously downloaded each Amicus brief. Usually only the lead organization is listed, then you see the fellow travelers on the brief. Seriously I doubt a single leftwing outfit was left out. From the ACLU to ADL to CAIR to Episcopal Bishops to SEIU, every blue state AG, every sanctuary city AG, 136 Democrat Congressmen, former Clinton and Obama officials in immigration/national security, etc., unions, professors, universities .. the entire gambit. And you can see who the lawyers filing for them are: Boies, Coie Perkins, Sidley Austin, among others … all D related, as in in-bred. And we can only guess who’s paying the lawyers. Unfortunately, Cato Inst. lined up with them and former Sen. Lugar is on a brief as an amicus. I’m sure these are slightly modified briefs from those filed in the 9th Circuit. It’s really depressing. Not too many filed on behalf of the President and his Administration. Rs really need a community organizer to get the various components of the base to act together in lock step like the Ds do.

  10. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  11. Molly Pitcher says:

Reading the news this a.m., I see that 0 has vowed to keep killing America, er….to keep up his community organizing, I mean.

  12. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Ou -la-la, to quote the French…Good morning lysie

    • Jemian says:

Molly, your French. It cracks me up.

Rave, I have pondered over this, and I have to agree with the artist.

Hubby is feeling poorly and is trying to get a sub for tomorrow. Substitute teachers here are scarcer than hens’ teeth.

The following is an actual news article. I had my class try to figure out what it was saying and to rewrite it.

The Moose’s and Tigers is Now Chasing Him and he had to Run from Tigers and Moose’s and the Moose and Tigers cannot Stop Chasing Him and More Tigers and Moose’s are Chasing him Nonstop and they Kept on Chasing Him and there are a Pack of Moose’s and Tigers Chasing him and they won’t stop Chasing Him and the Mooses and Tigers Kept on Chasing Him and they Finally Got Away and He Barley Got away from Moose’s and Tigers.

What I didn’t know when I copied and planned the lesson is that it was written by a learning disabled weather reader in Canada. He can only write on a third or fourth grade level. That information makes a difference.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Sure hope Mr. Jemian is mending soon, and he can find that sub.

    • Jemian says:

We did find a sub for him for our Tuesday. He felt well enough to return to school today although he isn’t quite out of the woods. THEN, I learned that there is a bit of a flu going around the high school. Not good at all for them. I’m trying to stand clear.

FYI, I have revamped and gone live with the school’s website:

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Good news, then…yes, stay away from the flu bug. Thanks for the link Jemian

    • lysie says:

Good morning Molly. Thanks for the new thread.

The events we went to were successful. All the chicken was sold at the Legion and the fundraiser brought in thousands of dollars for the young women with cancer.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Aw, that’s great news…I have been meaning to tell you that in our travels around the country, I have gotten in the habit of noticing the American Legion post buildings because of your activities in one. Now my husband belongs to a VFW post, but it has never had a building to meet in and maintain.

    • tillacum says:

Good Morning. What a weekend. It began on Thursday, Friday was full of excitement, Saturday was a day of showing off the country, Sunday was full of visiting. Today the last of the group will be leaving then we’ll sit and relive the great time we had.

  13. The Raven says:

    Morning quote:

..crimes against humanity have been committed by officials of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, pursuant to policies established at the highest levels of the State. These crimes against humanity entail extermination, murder, enslavement, torture, imprisonment, rape, forced abortions and other sexual violence, persecution on political, religious, racial and gender grounds, the forcible transfer of populations, the enforced disappearance of persons and the inhumane act of knowingly causing prolonged starvation.
…the gravity, scale and nature of these violations committed by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea reveal a state that does not have any parallel in the contemporary world. The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea can be characterized as a totalitarian state that does not content itself with ensuring the authoritarian rule of a small group of people, but seeks to dominate every aspect of its citizens’ lives and terrorizes them from within.

    – United Nations – as quoted in The Moral Obscenity of Kim’s North Korea, Claudia Rosett

    Morning Quote 2:

the new addition recasts his bull as a threatening, negative presence, corrupting and profaning its symbolism and the principles and values it glorifies.

    – Scott McCay on Wall St’s Charging Bull sculpter Arturo Di Modica’s demand to remove the publicity stunt Fearless Girl ( LINK )

  14. The Raven says:

Sooooo…..we begin. The left takes down O Reilly as they took down Glenn Beck and who’s next? Ah yes, Sean Hannity ( LINK )!! This is getting sickening. I was telling my wife that Sean will never be the subject of a scandal…he’s such a boy scout.

Rupert thought that if they gave in, it would turn out all right. It never does ( LINK ).

FOX needs to get to the organizer of this (I can make a guess) and fast. And hard.
