America the Right Way -Staying Vigilant – November 12, 2018 –November 16, 2018 Remember 9/11

Hello!

2 very dangerous and deadly fires continue to rage in California as the winds there fuel them.

President Trump was in Europe over the weekend to mark the 100th anniversary of World War I, but the events could not be held without revealing the animus between Macron, Trump and Merkel. P.M May decided to stay put in London, perhaps a wise choice.

The messy ballot situation continues in Florida, where politicos, judges, lawyers, and election officials argue and assess blame for another election fiasco there.

On Friday Trump will honor individuals including Babe Ruth, Antonin Scalia, Elvis Presley and Roger Staubach with the Presidential Medal of Freedom

  1. lysie says:

Good morning, Rav and Jem. Doesn’t work for me either.

New thread in a few minutes.

  2. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Jemian says:

Good morning. 30℉ here. Waaay too cold. I learned something yesterday. If you don’t buy decorative vegetables before Oct. 31, they will not be in stores right before Thanksgiving. I am out of step with this culture. I look like I fit in, but I don’t.

One thing I can do: design websites. I just did one for a supporting church. They were very happy with it. Yay!

I am ignoring most political news. I just do not have the stomach for it.

    • lysie says:

Good morning, Jem. I bet the website is very nice.

      Cold here, too.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Good news about the website Jemian.

  3. The Raven says:

That fire in CA is horrible. I can’t believe people didn’t get enough notice to get out.

I remember reading years ago that the arrogant left was discarding the old forest management strategies. They said they knew what they were doing. They got judges on their side. All preventable. Now they will blame it on Trump and Global Warming.

    • lysie says:

Just when I might start thinking that things aren’t going well here….(like 10 inches of snow this morning) I think of the people in California and say ..lysie..count your blessings.

    • lysie says:

Not saying that it happened that way , but how about intentionally started by some leftist wacko so it could be blamed on Trump? I wouldn’t doubt that possibility at all.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

That’s what I thinklysie…count your blessings, I remind myself. How about foreign terrorists?
Good morning, and thanks for breakfast…another fast week.
I hope your wife is a little less sore this a.m. Raven

    • The Raven says:

I read somewhere the fire was started by sparks from a substation.

But the ease of catastrophic fire is the problem…..The fire can start by lightening, accidents, arson, etc.

    • lysie says:

That’s right , Rav. I read that, too. PG&E…I forgot.

  4. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone. Brrrr!

  5. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Thank you lysie…Good morning. Last night, city trucks were parked in front of our house for awhile, backhoe, etc., and we thought the water was about to be shut off, so we started collecting…but they moved on. Thank goodness, but we did our “drill” very efficiently!

    • lysie says:

Hi , Molly. I’m happy it worked out ok.

The newlyweds are doing fine. As far as I know we all are going out to eat for Thanksgiving.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      Sounds good!
Our grocery deal was this: turkeys $.38 per lb. as long as they lasted. we got one. also: sale ended yesterday: spend at least $25 on food items and get $5 off the total. So we had no problem filling in the basket around the turkey purchase, and making the minimum.
Plus, this was the first time I’d been to this store in almost a year – it is noisier than the one we been going to and that I go to now on my own easily.

I had no problems yesterday without earplugs, so that was an extra bonus, but I needed my husband to lift the turkey…no big deal. We do grocery shopping very well together now. 🙂

  6. lysie says:

    Good morning everyone.

  7. The Raven says:

Cats & Rats – Funny Video

So….. McSally lost to a pro-Taliban Marxist. I didn’t know this, but McSally was a RINO.

McSally would have been another McCain, Flake, Romney, Murkowski decepticon voice amid a Senate majority that loves the Corinthian pontificators.

    – Conservative Treehouse

Anyway, she is likely to be Senator anyway as a replacement for the temporary McCain seat.

    • lysie says:

Good morning, Rav. Love the cat/rat video. Thanks. How is Mrs. Rav? I pray she is recovering well.

I want to stay informed, but the mid term election makes me want to live in a cave.

    • The Raven says:

Mrs Rav saw the doc yesterday and he ordered an MRI on her wrist next Friday. She’s got less pain but still quite sore everywhere I thought it was funny that the doctor and staff kept asking her minute details (size of dog, breed, where did she fall? on what? — and then, your husband will need to take care of you – is he capable?) … all of this of course to rule out domestic abuse. I keep waiting for the sheriff. Luckily, our nighbor saw the whole thing.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Raven Glad to see that your wife is in a little less pain. But sore everywhere is not a comfortable feeling at all. Hope it doesn’t interfere with her sleep.

Thanks for breakfast lysie. We didn’t get the expected snow, thank goodness. We are headed to the grocery together this a.m., since we need to get a turkey, and that’s too heavy for me. Lately however, I’ve been able to do the shopping on my own.
I agree…trying to find the right level of “informed” is tricky.

How are the newlyweds, btw? First holidays together are fun…Our first T-Day together was in Seoul Korea, and I tried to cook turkey parts in an electric skillet. The first thing tho was finding the turkey in the commissary. There was no guarantee that that was going to happen!

    • lysie says:

Molly, I just bought a turkey for 37 cents a pound. I had to buy $25 of groceries in order to get that price, but with cats and a dog that was easy.

    • Jemian says:

I may just run out now and see what I can get. Last year, the prices of a turkey were about $100 for a 12-pounder. Granted, it was in Papua and the dang things had to be imported. But, it was way too expensive for me and we had chicken.

  8. lysie says:

Good morning everyone. Thanks for the new thread, Molly.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

      lysie, thanks for breakfast.

Good morning, and thanks for the FL new info Raven At the very least the Dems/Left will once again undermine the system and confidence in the validity of the election. It’s quite a wicked game they have going there.

    • lysie says:

      You are welcome , Molly.

    • The Raven says:

Doggone it….they flipped Montana. They flipped AZ. They are working on GA and FL. And no one cares. They mail in ballots are the most susceptible to fraud.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Well, apparently the suburban vote is another problem, but there is hope:
A new Wellspring of voters for the GOP

    • Jemian says:

I have read various accounts of the meeting honoring the war dead. Angela Merkel was there. Her country caused the whole thing. She should have held back out of respect for others.

    • Molly Pitcher says:

Hi Jemian. I thought it was Macron who got the thing going. oh well ..they are both to be disdained.
The church you attended in NOLA….on St Charles close to Tulane? The church we went to was on S. Claiborne and closer to downtown. It had a beautiful building and sanctuary….the oldest Presbyterian congregation in the state, and apparently still there and going…but PC USA would no longer serve our need for faithfulness to scripture.

    • Jemian says:

Yes, absolutely, Redeemer Presbyterian. It’s a PCA church, but meeting in a Baptist church’s building. You nailed it, St. Charles by Tulane. After church we found a small restaurant, Le Maison, which served the best Mexican food we’ve had since leaving Zaragosa, Coahuila, Mexico. I don’t think I could worship at a PC USA church. They are very liberal and, as you said, not faithful to Scripture.

  9. The Raven says:

My local paper here in Florida is part of the problem:

” …a judge found this week, violated both state law and the Constitution. Yet those very procedures are common during elections”

Which was a lie. They are not common. It was unique to Broward County.

They also pooh poohed R’s for jumping on the provional ballot box found by a teacher (later found to be filled with supplies). Now there’s another box left behind.…so it is certain now that the Dems left these as a trap to divert attention and make it seem like everything is overblown.. You look over here while I cheat over there.

    as Sara Hoyt says:

Their professors have told them lies against “systemic injustice” and the internal colonization of men and women who reject socialism. So they actually think they’re redressing a wrong. Kind of like fake but accurate. Until they get over their brain washing they’re awful citizens and tainted officers. WE CAN FACE THIS NOW, OR IT CAN EXPLODE IN OUR FACES LATER. THE LEFT HAS STOPPED RESPECTING OUR ELECTION PROCESS

She has it exactly right. The left thinks they are doing good.
